Speech -Language & MyoFunctional Therapy
Cynthia has been a speech-language pathologist for over 20 years and has been specializing in myofunctional therapy for over 10 years.
She has a BA in Linguistics, an MA in Applied Linguistics, and an MS in Speech-Language Pathology. Cynthia has owned and operated two private practices, Morgan Hill Speech and Language in California, and Speech & Myo Hub in Oregon, which was recently sold to BreatheWorks. She was also a lecturer and clinical supervisor in the Communicative Disorders and Sciences Department at San Jose State University.
She has worked extensively with adults and children with a variety of speech and language disorders. She has worked in public and private schools, hospitals, trauma and outpatient centers, skilled nursing and in private practice. In addition, she worked at the Utah School for the Deaf and Blind prior to her graduate studies facilitating language and American Sign Language in the classroom.
She has extensive training as an orofacial myofunctional therapist and has provided trainings and workshops targeting the identification and treatment of myofunctional disorders in a variety of settings for dentists, dental hygienists, orthodontists, sleep physicians, and speech-language pathologists.
Cynthia specializes in treatment that targets late talkers, language and play development, speech/articulation, myofunctional disorders, swallowing disorders, tongue tie, nasal breathing retraining, sleep breathing disorders, and orthodontic relapse.
